A member of the famous Renfrewshire Bridge of Weir curling club, John McLeod served two terms as president of the club between 1908-10. A Scottish international curler, he was a regular member of the Scotland team in the annual match against England in the 1920s and 30s. He also played in the 1921 Test series against Canada at Edinburgh. Although selected for the Great Britain squad at the 1924 Olympics, he was not called upon to play in either match against Sweden and France.
