Austrian ice hockey defence Michael Lampert participated in the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics where the Austrian team came 14th and last. Lampert played with VEU Feldkirch (1989-2000), EHC Linz (2000-01), EHC Lustenau (2001-02), Feldkirch again (2002-12), and finally HC Rankweil (2013-16). He helped Feldkirch win the Austrian national titles in 1990 and 1994-98, and the European Hockey League in 1998.
Lampert won 18 international caps and scored one assist, no goals. He later turned to coaching at Feldkirch and to sports administration, also at Feldkirch.
