Canadian-born Tom Searle was an Austrian ice hockey Olympian in 1998 at Nagano and 2002 at Salt Lake City. A defenseman, he came 14th and 12th with the Austrian team respectively. In total, he earned 43 international caps and scored 19 points (six goals and 13 assists).
Before Searle moved to Austria, he played in North America in lower leagues with Dundas Blues (1979-81), Brantford Alexanders (1981-84), Newmarket Flyers, St. Catherine Saints (1984-85), Flint Spirits (1985-86), Kalamazoo Wings (1986-87), Milwaukee Admirals (1987), Ayr Bruins (Scotland, 1988-90), Richmond Renegades (1990-91), Brantford Smoke (1991-93), and Capital District Islanders (1993).
In Austria Searle played with VEU Feldkirch (1993-98) and Villacher SV (1998-2004). He helped Feldkirch win the Austrian national titles from 1994-99 (also the European Hockey League in 1998) and Villach in 2002. After returning to Canada, he turned to coaching with Dundas Blues.
