Biography
France’s Hamel was a student of the American boxer Louis Doen. Hamel was entered in the featherweight class of the 1908 Olympic Games in London, and was probably one of the best boxers on the French team. However, he was one of the seven French boxers who pulled out at the last minute and never made the trip to London.
