Robert Eustache entered the 1908 Olympic Games as the best lightweight boxer France had ever produced and was that year’s French champion. He had a great knowledge of the sport and had the fitness to enable him to go the distance. Unfortunately, he never made the trip to London for the 1908 Games as he was one of the seven French boxers who pulled out at the last minute.
