Samir Roy was an Indian footballer who played for East Bengal FC in the early 1950s. With the club Roy won the IFA Shield, the Durand Cup, the DCM Trophy, and the Calcutta Football League title during their domestic dominance at the start of the decade. In 1952 he was named to India’s squad for the football tournament at the Helsinki Olympics, but he did not play in any matches. In 2010 he was honoured with the East Bengal Lifetime Achievement Award.
