Bulgarian football midfielder Lazar Khristov spent his entire senior career, from 1942 through 1956, with Lokomotiv Sofia. With the team, he won the nation’s First League competition in 1945 and was runner-up in 1946 and 1947. He also won the Bulgarian Cup in 1948 and 1953, as well as in an unofficial tournament held in 1945. In total, he scored 14 goals over 185 appearances before his retirement. Internationally, he earned six caps with the Bulgarian national team and was selected to represent his country at the 1952 Summer Olympics, although he did not appear in any matches during this tournament, in which Bulgaria was eliminated in the qualifying round by the Soviet Union in overtime play.
