A midfielder for NAC Breda, Jos Beenhakkers won the 1st Division South title in 1945/1946, with NAC placing 4th in the play-offs for the national title. He was called up for the Olympic selection in 1948, although he would eventually not play in any match. In the run-up to the Games, however, Beenhakkers competed in one match, against the British Olympic selection, winning 5-2. These matches are not considered full internationals, despite the fact that the Olympic matches (with virtually the same teams), usually are. He later also played for another Breda club, Baronie, where he would also become a long-time youth trainer.
