Austrian biathlete Günther Dengg participated at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. He finished 62nd over 20 kilometres. Due to his bad result he then moved to cross-country skiing and had some remarkable results with a second place in a sprint World Cup race in 2002. Two years later Dengg retired.
