Rower Ute Wild was a member of the East German coxed eights at the 1988 Seoul Games, winning the gold medal. At World Championships, she won three silver medals, with the eights in 1986 and 1989, and with Kathrin Haacker in the coxless pairs in 1987. In 1990, Wild added a bronze medal with the eights. Domestically, Wild won the national title with the eights in 1987. She was a trained skilled worker in the food industry.
