Austrian snowboarded Doris Günther became a triple Olympian from 2002 at Salt Lake City until 2010 at Vancouver. She had her best Olympic result with an unfortunate fourth place in the parallel giant slalom at Torino in 2006. She won two silver medals at World Championships in 2009, in parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom, and a bronze medal in 2011 in the parallel giant slalom. In 2009, she won the overall World Cup in parallel giant slalom.
In total, Günther won eight World Cup races and two National titles. She studied sports science and in 2009 was awarded the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. Her father Kurt was an ice hockey professional.
