Marcel Höhlig won the silver medal in the Nordic Combined relay at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. In 2005 he won his only German national title, and was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. He retired in 2007 when he was dropped off the German A team. He later made his living as a sports soldier with the German Bundeswehr and turned to coaching at Klingenthal.
