Sandra Prokoff-Kiriasis was a German bobsledder who started her sports career as a cross-country skier and then a luger. In 2000, she turned to bobsleigh and then won the silver medal with Ulrike Holzner at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Four years later at Torino she won the gold medal with Antje Schneiderheinze.
At the 2010 Vancouver Games, Prokoff-Kiriasis finished an unfortunate fourth with Christin Senkel and fifth at Sochi four years later with Franziska Fritz. At World Championships, Prokoff-Kiriasis won seven gold medals, five silver and one bronze. At Europeans, she added seven more golds, three silvers and one bronze. She won the overall World Cup nine times in a row from 2003-11, and won 45 World Cup races in total.
Prokoff-Kiriasis later studied sports management and turned to coaching. In 2018 she prepared the Jamaican women’s team for PyeongChang but was released shortly ahead the Games. Occasionally, she participated in several entertainment and reality shows on German TV channels. She also participated regularly in the Wok-World Championships organized by German entertainer Stefan Raab.
