Nicole Herschmann was a former German track & field triple jumper who won the national title in 2001. She then turned to bobsleigh and won the bronze medal with Susi Erdmann at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in the two-women event. The same year they also won the overall World Cup and were awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Four years later at the Torino Winter Olympics, the duo finished fifth.
