Andreas Renz was a German ice hockey defender who participated in the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2006 Torino Winter Olympics. The team lost in 2002 to the United States 5-0 after winning the group stage ahead of Latvia, Austria, and Slovakia. In 2006, they were eliminated in the group stage and disappointed with a tenth place. In total, Renz won 183 international caps and scored four goals. He participated in 10 World Championships.
At club level, Renz played with Schwenninger Wild Wings (1994-2001 and 2010-12),and Kölner Haie (2001-10), He helped Köln win the German national title in 2002. Renz later turned to coaching and commenting on ice hockey events for German TV channels.
