Dennis Seidenberg, brother of Yannic Seidenberg, was a German ice hockey defender who participated in the 2002 Salt Lake City, 2006 Torino, and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. The team lost in 2002 to the United States 5-0 after winning the group stage ahead of Latvia, Austria, and Slovakia. In 2006, they were eliminated in the group stage and disappointed with a tenth place, and in 2010, they placed 11th. In total, Seidenberg won 63 international caps and scored four goals and 13 assists. He participated in five World Championships.
At club level, Seidenberg played with Adler Mannheim (1999-2002 and 2012) before he moved to North American NHL. He then played with Philadelphia Flyers (2002-06), Phoenix Coyotes (2006-07), Carolina Hurricanes (2007-09), Florida Panthers (2009-10), Boston Bruins (2010-16), and New York Islanders (2016-18). With Boston he won the Stanley Cup in 2011, beating Vancouver Canucks in the deciding seventh match 4-3. Seidenberg had previously won the 2005 Calder Cup with Philadelphia, and won the German national title with Mannheim 2001. He turned to coaching with New York. In 2017, he was elected best defender at the World Championships.
