Ryan Cox was a South African cyclist who turned professional in 2000. He first rode for Italian and German teams but switched in 2003 to Barloworld and remained with them throughout his career. Cox won the South African road race title in 2004-05. He won several minor tours, including the Tour of Qinghai Lake in China in 2004-05, and the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia in 2005. Cox died a few weeks after surgery on a vascular malformation in his leg, when the artery in the leg burst.
