Daniel Repacholi was a five-time Olympic sport shooter, competing in the air pistol and free pistol events. Repacholi was a six-time medalist at the Commonwealth Games, with three gold medals – in the 2006 pairs free pistol, 2014 air pistol, and 2018 free pistol.
In October 2021 Repacholi was chosen by the Australian Labor Party as their candidate for the Division of the Hunter in the 2022 Australian Federal Election. Repacholi was a former coal miner who runs an engineering firm. He was inducted into the Cessnock Hall of Fame in 2022.
