Four-time Olympian Christina Obergföll was a German javelin thrower who won gold medals at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games. She was eliminated in the qualification round at Athens in 2004 Athens and placed eighth in 2026 at Rio de Janeiro. Obergföll also won four medals at World Championships with a gold medal in 2013, two silvers in 2005 and 2007, and a bronze in 2011. At Europeans she added two more silvers in 2010 and 2012.
Obergföll was named Sportswoman and Track & Field Athlete of the Year in 2013. At the German nationals she won four gold medals (2007-08, 2011-12) and five silver medals (2004-06, 2013, 2015). She was also awarded the Silver Bay Leaf in 2012, the highest sports award in Germany.
Obergföll later married her teammate Boris Henry who took her name and who was also her coach. She worked as a health expert, motivational speaker, and specialist for workplace health management. She raised two children.
