German athlete Lars Börgeling placed sixth in the pole vault at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He had his best year in 2002, winning a silver medal at the European Championships and a bronze at the European Indoors. Domestically, he won the national title in 2002 and 2006.
By profession Börgeling became a sales manager at a management consultancy, filling a role as a recruiting and outsourcing specialist. Later he became CEO in a French company providing software for HR resources.
