Biography

Slovak slalom canoeist Peter Nagy competed at international events from 1990 until 2001. Nagy had his first major success at the 1991 Canoe Slalom World Championships when he won bronze in the K1 team event representing Czechoslovakia. He then competed for Slovakia in the same event at the 1993 and 1995 championships, finishing tenth and eighth, respectively. In 1996 he was selected for the K1 event at the Atlanta Olympics, where he came 13th. A few months after the Olympics he narrowly missed out on a medal in the K1 team event at the European Championships when Slovakia came fourth. Nagy then repeated his fourth-place finish in the K1 team event at the 1999 World Championships, before finishing 12th in the K1 at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
