Bärbel Jungmeier was an Austrian mountain bike cyclist placing 14th at the 2004 Athens Olympics as the first ever Austrian mountain biker at the Olympics. She won three national titles; mountain bike (2004), mountain bike marathon, and individual track pursuit (both 2007). That same year she won the European Masters in mountain bike marathon.
In addition to multi-day mountain bike stage races (Alpentour Styria (2000, 1st place), Transalp Challenge (2007, 2nd place)), the all-rounder Jungmeier also completed road tours in the Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand.
Jungmeier later studied Protestant theology at the University of Vienna (Wien) and became a graduated protestant theologian and director of the Piarist Gymnasium Krems in 2018. She built a student coaching project at St. Pölten for high-performance competitive athletes.
