Greek handballer Eleni Potari started her career playing for Aris Nikias as a left winger. During her domestic career Potari also played for Ormi Patras , OFN Ionia , Anagennisi Byron, and GAS Kamaterou. In the early 2000s she competed for the Greek national team, playing at the Mediterranean Games in 2001 and 2005, and the 2004 Balkan Games where she won a bronze medal. Potari was part of the Greek squad that competed in the handball tournament at the 2004 Athína Olympics, playing in all five matches and scoring 12 goals, with Greece finishing in tenth place. Potari had been suffering with health problems before she died in October 2023 from cancer. She was 41-years-old.
