Francesca Ferretti

Francesca Ferretti was an Italian volleyball player who joined Giovolley Reggio Emilia in 1998. She played in the B2 series championship for two seasons before joining Club Italia in 2000. Ferretti made her Serie A1 début in the 2001/02 season after a move to Volleyball Sirio Perugia. The following season she switched to Volleyball Chieri, helping them win promotion to Serie A1. At the end of the season she won her first Italian international cap.

At Volleyball Modena in Serie A1 between 2003-05, Ferretti won nothing at club level but, with the national team, won two silver medals at the World Grand Prix (2004 and 2005). In the next two seasons, following a return to Chieri, Ferretti won the gold medal at the European Championships held in Belgium and Luxembourg, and a first place at the World Cup in Japan, when she played in the last three decisive matches against Cuba, Brazil, and the United States. In 2008 Ferretti added the bronze medal at the World Grand Prix.

Ferretti joined Robursport Scavolini Volley Pesaro in the 2007/08 season and enjoyed success at club level over a five-year period with them, starting with the CEV Cup and followed by an Italian Cup and three consecutive Italian Championships, and Super Cups. Ferretti also competed in her second Olympics in 2008.

After joining River Volley of Piacenza in 2012/13 Ferretti collected a further two Italian Cup and League titles, and the 2013 Super Cup in two seasons with them. After a brief move to Azerbaijan, Ferretti returned to Modena before one final season at River Volley in 2016/17 before announcing her retirement from the game in 2018.
