Sweden’s Micael Lundmark made his Snowboard World Cup début in December 2002, finishing in eighth place in the big air discipline. The 2002/03 season would see Lundmark achieve his only World Cup podium finish with a third place in the big air in Arosa, Switzerland. In the halfpipe at the Junior World Championships he finished in fifth place in 2003 and in 10th place in 2004. Lundmark was selected to compete in the halfpipe at the 2006 Torino Olympics where he finished in 27th place.
On 16 June 2023 Lundmark went swimming at Västerbron in Stockholm. He began to prepare for a stunt by recording it on his mobile phone before doing a somersault from the bridge. However, after performing the jump into the water his body did not resurface. Lundmark’s remains were found just over two months later by a passer-by. He was 36-years-old.
