Ferenc Horváth was a Hungarian metalworker who also competed as a cyclist in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1959 Horváth became the national road race champion in the 200 kilometres race, earning himself a place on the Olympic team. He was one of four Hungarian cyclists to be selected to compete in the individual road race at the Roma Games. The Games, however, were a disaster for the team after they were entered but did not start when the Hungarian Cycling Federation withdrew all their cyclists after one member went to the wrong doctor. Horváth continued cycling for the next few years, riding six editions of the Peace Race and finishing third at the 1962 edition of the Tour of Hungary.
