Austrian show jumper Anton-Martin Bauer participated in the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics. He rode Vesuve Paluelle in 1996 and placed 11th both with the team and individually. At Sydney he rode Equo and finished 26th in the individual event.

Bauer was also an eventing rider, breeder, trainer, riding instructor, and course designer. He won the Austrian national show jumping title in 1998, 2000-02, and 2004, and the eventing title in 1988. Bauer owned the Equo equestrian centre, which was located on the outskirts of Maria Ponsee, near Zwentendorf. He also coached the Austrian youth national show jumping team.

In 2005, Bauer’s horse transporter was involved in an accident on an Italian highway near Venice on the way back from a tournament in Manerbio.
