Herbert Blöcker was a three-day event rider from Germany. He won three medals at the Olympics, silver and bronze with the team in 1976 and 1992, and a silver medal in the 1992 individual event. At his third Olympic Games in 1996 he placed 16th with the team, while in 1988 he was an alternate but did not compete. Domestically Blöcker was runner-up at the 1971 nationals in the individual event. He was German Champion in 1974-75, riding Albrant. In 1989 and 1991 he was runner-up again on Feine Dame and in 1997 on Kiwi Dream.
At the European Championships Blöcker was on the champion team and was runner-up in the 1973 individual event. At the World Championships he won team silvers in 1978 and 1982 and team bronzes in 1974 and 1990. Blöcker was employed by the Verband der Züchter des Holsteiner Pferdes (Association of the Breeders of Holstein horses), where he was chief trainer for stallion and dam exams.
