Octave Gallice was a Champagne distributor. One of his three brothers, Georges, studied at the École Polytechnique, and later worked on electrical motors for boats, bicycles, and early cars. Georges was also a competitive cyclist and sportsman, who was a member of the Conseil de l’Union des Yachts Français, president of several cycling societies near his native Épernay, a co-founder of the Yacht and Automobile Club of Cannes, and was a member of the municipal council in Antibes. Octave and two other brothers, Charles and Henri, were the owners of Perrier-Jouët Champagnes, and with Henri, he inherited the rights to the name Perrier-Jouët, and formed the partnership, Gallice and Company. As a horse lover, Octave Gallice built a large horse barn behind the Perrier-Jouët offices in Épernay. He married Blanche Elisa Victorine Mauger in 1892, a marriage that was without issue.
