In his 29 test matches, Booth scored 1,773 runs at an average of 42.21, with five 100s. He played 93 first-class matches for New South Wales, scoring 5,577 runs (43.57) and 11 100s. He was twice a Test skipper for Australia. After he was removed from the national team he received a letter from then selector Sir Donald Bradman in which he apologized for the removal. Booth later coached at St. George. In 1982 he was awarded an MBE from the Queen.
