Considered to be the patriarch of Greek sports journalism, Petros Linardos was one of the founding members of the Panhellenic Sports Press Association (PSAT) and later served as the association’s President for 16 years. Linardos was born in the Panathenaic Stadium in Athína where his mother and her family were staying as refugees following the destruction of Smyrna. His interest in journalism began when he was at school, which lead to him writing for a newspaper and working as a film critic. In 1952 Linardos established the PSAT and served as the President of the organisation from 1976 to 1992. In 2004 he was awarded with the Olympic Order in Silver.
