Evelina Christillin

Evelina Maria Augusta Christillin is an Italian businesswoman who was Executive President of the Torino 2006 Bid Committee, and a vice-president of the 2006 Torino Organizing Committee. She was the daughter of Emilio Christillin, president of the Torino Automobile Club of Italy. She was born in Torino and between 1970 and 1974 had competed with the National B team in Alpine skiing.

In 1978 Christillin was hired by the Fiat press office, where she stayed for the next seven years. She worked for Valentino Castellani, helping him in his Torino mayoral re-election campaign. He won re-election and offered Christillin the position of director of the Department of Sport but she turned down the offer.

Christillin has held directorships on several boards, including Saes Getters and Gruppo Carige. She was President of the Filarmonica ‘900 of the Teatro Regio, and between 2006 and 2010 was a member of the Board of Directors of the same theater. She was also President of the Teatro Stabile Foundation of Torino and the Egyptian Museum Foundation of Torino.

She has received various honors including the Marisa Bellisario Award in the managerial sector, the Grolla d’Oro for Communication, and the Saint-Vincent Prize for Journalism. In 2015, the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi appointed her to head ENIT, the Italian Tourism Agency.

At the UEFA Congress in Athens on 14 September 2016, Christillin was elected as an additional UEFA member to the FIFA Council, which as confirmed the following April.

Among the honors bestowed on Christillin in the 2000s, the President of the Italian Republic made her a Commendator and Grand Official Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. In September 2021 the municipality of Ceva awarded her the “Sentinel Glocal of the territory”, an award for having made known the valleys of the Piedmont Region beyond the national borders.
