Tunisian cardiologist Mohamed Gueddiche studied medicine in Lyon before returning to Tunisia to found the cardiology department at the Tunis military hospital. Gueddiche later served as the hospital’s director and helped to develop other cardiology departments in hospitals across the country. He held a senior rank in the Tunisian military, serving as the personal physician to former Presidents Habib Bourguiba and Ben Ali. Gueddiche also served as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Tunisia from 2002 to 2004.
