As a 20-year-old, Albert Bridgeman was a reserve for Cornwall against the touring South Africans in December 1906. The following year, he was appointed captain of the Penzance team, a position he held until the end of the 1909-10 season, when he left the area to work in Slough, and briefly played for Richmond. Bridgeman was a reserve for the 1908 Great Britain Olympic team and the following year was once more a reserve for the Cornwall country side.
