Najmuddin Ka’bar joined the Al-Ittihad sports club in Tripoli in 1944, becoming their President in 1952. In 1958 Ka’bar then became the head of the Supreme Sports Authority in Libya before serving as the President of the Libyan Olympic Committee from 1966 to 1967. He died in October 2019 after reaching the age of 100 one year earlier.
