Giuseppe Mazzini was an Italian entrepreneur and politician. He graduated from Torino with honours in engineering. He was deputy of the Liberal Party 1921-25, when he joined P.N.F. (National Fascist Party), with which he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Italy until March 1939. After the fall of Fascism in 1943, Mazzini was appointed commissioner of Confindustria (Union of Industrial Companies), re-introducing union rules with an agreement that was named Patto Buozzi-Mazzini.
Mazzini was president of the Italian Fencing Confederation (later Italian Fencing Federation) from 1926 and held the post for several terms between then and 1952. In 1935 he became an honorary member of the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime, and became President in 1953. More than 65 years later, he remained one of only two Italians to hold the post. Mazzini died of heart failure in 1961 at his home in Torino.
