Biography
Efstratios Stratigis studied law at the University of Basel and at the London School of Economics. Afterwards Stratigis moved into politics where he served as the secretary general of the Ministry of Merchant Shipping from 1974 to 1975. From 1974 to 1985 he was a member of the New Democracy political party in the Greek parliament. In January 1998 to July 1999 Stratigis was the President of the organising committee for the 2004 Athína Olympics.
