Braian Toledo was a javelin throw prodigy who won gold at the 2010 Youth Olympics, and was a silver medalist at the 2012 World Junior Championships. He also set the youth world record of 89.34 in 2010, which still stood at the beginning of 2020.
Moving to senior competition, he was a five-time Argentine Champion, and won a bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games, when only 18-years-old. Toledo was a three-time South American Champion (2012, 2014, 2017), and won the Ibero-American title in 2012.
Toledo twice competed at both the World Championships (10th in 2015, non-qualifier in 2017), and the Olympic Games, in 2012 and 2016, making the final and finishing 10th in 2012 when only 19. Sadly, Toledo died young, in a motorcycle accident near Marcoz Paz, about 30 miles west of Buenos Aires.
Personal Best: JT – 83.32 (2015).
