Antonio Piraíno dedicated much of his life to the dressage, largely in the Chilean Army as Head of the Riding School. For more than 40 years he was also heavily involved with the San Cristóbal Polo and Riding Club in Santiago. The highlights of Piraíno’s competitive career were at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics where he competed in the individual and team dressage events on his horse Ciclón, and helped Chile to a sixth place finish. Three years later at the Cali Pan American Games, Piraíno enjoyed the only international podium finishes of his career when he won a bronze medal in the individual dressage, and silver in the team event.
