Otto Rothe was a West German three-day eventer, who participated in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics and at Stockholm in 1956. He won a silver medal with the German team at both Games, with an 11th place at Helsinki being his best individual performance.
Rothe was a well-known collector of horse breeding books (especially concerning Trakheners), which are nowadays on display in the German Horse Museum in Verden. During World War II Rothe was expelled from his home in East Prussia (nowadays Poland) and came to Bavaria. His father was a well-known horse breeder in East Prussia. Otto Rothe died in 1970 in a car accident.
