In 1952 Albrecht was part of the Swiss team for the Helsinki Olympics, where he scored 30 points in the two matches he played in. He also played at the European Championships in 1953 and 1955. He is sometimes confused with the Swiss basketball player of the same name who competed at the 1948 London Olympics.
