Biography

In the late 1940s and early 1950s Evert Grift had a brief career as a professional cyclist. In 1948 Grift won the inaugural edition of the Ronde van Limburg one-day race in the Netherlands to earn a place on the Dutch Olympic team. At the London Games, however, he failed to finish in the road race. One year later Grift finished fifth at the national road race championships before winning his only race with victory at the 1951 Hoogerheide criterium.
