Romanian cyclist Gheorghe Bădără had a brief competitive career during the early 1960s, winning several national titles. In 1962 Bădără won the second stage of the Dookoła Mazowsza stage race in Poland, before finishing third overall in the general classification. Two years later he finished fourth in the 100 kilometres team time trial at the UCI World Championships. That year the same quartet finished ninth in the event at the Tokyo Olympics, with Bădără also competing in the road race at the Games. He retired from cycling soon afterwards and later settled in the city of Sighișoara.
