Gunnar Björk participated in the road time trial at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, finishing 51st in the individual road time trial as a non-scoring member of the gold-medal winning Swedish team. Four years later, he placed fourth on the same course round Lake Mälaren.
Björk was trained as a tinsmith. He later married Hilma Maria Viktoria Dalberg.
