Maksim Hustsik was a Belarusian freestyle skier who won the Youth World Championships in 2006 and 2007. Hutsik made his début at the World Cup in 2008 in Moskva where he finished in tenth place. In 2011 he competed at the World Championships in Deer Valley, Utah, finishing in 11th place in the ski acrobatics event. Two years later, also at Deer Valley, Hutsik had his first World Cup victory of his career. In 2015 he finished on the podium at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships when he won bronze in the aerials in Kreischberg, Austria.
Hustsik represented Belarus at two editions of the Olympics with his first appearance coming at the 2018 PyeongChang Games where he finished in 22nd place in the aerials. Four years later at the 2022 Beijing Games he finished in sixth place in the team aerials, along with 20th place in the individual event.
Following his career Hustsik worked as a freestyle skiing coach. Sadly he was only 35-years-old when he died after a car hit him as he was crossing a road in Minsk in December 2023.
