Arturo Bresciani’s best season as an amateur was in 1924. He competed in the road race at the Olympic Games, and finished seventh in the World Amateur Road Race Championship in Paris, won by Frenchman André Leducq.
Bresciani turned professional in 1925, and the best performance of his 12-year career was in finishing third behind Giovanni Brunero and the great Alfredo Binda in the 1926 Giro d’Italia. The following year, he won the 218 km stage between Pescara and Pesara in the Giro, ahead of Antonio Negrini. Towards the end of his career, Bresciani competed, with limited success, in motor-paced races, and was twice runner-up in the Italian championship. He also competed at the 1933 World Track Championships
