Arezzo native Enrico Brusoni was not generally considered an Olympic champion, as the points race event at the 1900 Olympics was generally overlooked as an Olympic competition. Brusoni won the event quite overwhelmingly, taking 5 of the 10 sprints. Other victories in his career included the Coppa del Re (1898), the Italian title (1901) and two wins in the Gran Fondo Gazzetta endurance race (1902 and 1904). He also broke the Italian record for the derny event, in 1899.
