Dutch cyclist Leen Buis had a brief career during the late 1920s, becoming the national road race champion in 1927. During that same year Buis also won the Ronde van Limburg, Ronde van Noord-Brabant, and Ronde van de Veluwe one-day races to earn himself a place on the Dutch Olympic team. At the 1928 Amsterdam Games he finished 17th in the individual road race, almost 30 minutes behind the race winner, and ninth in the combined team event.
