Allan Carlsson was a top road racer in Sweden. He first came to notice in 1947 when he the Swedish junior title in the time trial. In 1948 he was second in the Swedish road championship, winning that event in 1951 and placing second again in 1952. In 1949 Carlsson was the Swedish champion in the road time trial. During the 1953 Nordic Championships, Carlsson was hit by a truck and was paralyzed. He died two weeks later in Sofiahemmet Hospital in Stockholm.
