Biography

During the 1920s Argentine cyclist Luis de Meyer won two national titles and competed at two Olympic Games. In 1924 De Meyer was selected to compete at the Paris Olympics on both the road and track. In the individual road race he finished 31st, almost an hour behind the winning time, but failed to finish in the 50 kilometres event in the velodrome. Back home he became the national champion in the road race in 1925 and 1927, earning him another chance to ride at the Olympics. De Meyer competed in the road race at the 1928 Amsterdam Games, finishing 41st individually and eighth in the combined team event.
